Según la Agencia Tributaria los contribuyentes fallecidos están obligados a presentar la declaración de la Renta del último ejercicio fiscal de su vida, comprendido entre el 1 de enero del año en que murió y su fecha de fallecimiento.
Se trata de un trámite necesario para cerrar las obligaciones que pudiera tener el causante con la Agencia Tributaria.
Mención especial hay que hacer a las declaraciones de la renta que salgan a devolver. Los sucesores de la persona fallecida podrán solicitar su devolución, si bien, y para ello, deberán de cumplimentar el modelo H-100, además de acompañarlo de una serie de documentación que dependerá del importe a devolver.

Obviamente, la obligación de presentar la Declaración de la renta del fallecido se transmite a sus herederos, quienes podrán hacerlo de manera presencial en las Oficinas de la Agencia Tributaria o telemáticamente.
